Mountain Goats
Mountain Goats are not native to the Yellowstone Ecosystem, not in recent history at least, but were introduced into the park in 1990. They are likely descendants of mountain goats introduced in the Absaroka and Madison mountain ranges during the 1940s and 1950s. They are somewhat difficult to see up close in the park, but are often easier to find near the top of the nearby Beartooth Highway. They are one of our favorite animals to spend time with, between the adorable babies, and the stunning locations that they often reside in.
