Our Story

My route to becoming who I am as a photographer, explorer, and adventurer has been quite unique. You often hear about photographers who have been taking pictures for most of their lives, but I have only had a camera in my hand for about five years now.

About 16 years ago, my wife and I experienced a tragedy that completely changed our lives. For me, it was a true transformation. Before these events I didn’t have many hobbies or outside interests, I was focused solely on my career and was driven to be a business executive. If you want to learn more about these events you can read about them in our blog posts here and here.

These events made me rethink everything and completely transformed who I was. I had never gone camping or even visited a national park. Now I can’t imagine being away from nature.

I can confidently say that wildlife and nature have saved my life, and through this journey, I have also become passionate about capturing my experiences through photography and filmmaking. It has become a core part of who I am. Photography, especially wildlife photography, has given me purpose again.

I heard a quote somewhere that best describes my journey: In my thirties, the world tore me apart, but in my forties, nature put me back together.

It has become such an important part of my life that in August of 2022, my wife and I sold our house and have been living on the road and traveling full time. While we go where our hearts take us, we tend to migrate most to wildlife, true wilderness. and often the beach and ocean.

We have settled into a pattern of summering in Yellowstone and wintering in Southern Florida. I often say that my true heaven is Yellowstone, and I really love it in Southern Florida. My wife on the other hand is most happy at the beach and considers Florida her heaven and really loves it in Yellowstone. So it works out well for us.

The majority of our work will be focused on these two ecosystems, however, we will continue to travel to explore both the rest of the country as well as other unique locations across the globe.

These places are so important to us that conservation has become a major focus of ours. We want to protect these special places so that we can continue to heal, and hopefully allow others to experience the same joy and wonder as we have.

Photography and Cinematography have become a separate but related journey. It is not just a hobby, but rather a true passion, and I am never too far from my camera. While I don’t consider myself an expert or professional photographer, I am focused on improving, learning, and expanding every day.

Join us on our journey, whether you want to follow along to see where we go next, learn through our experiences, get inspired to follow your own dreams, or live vicariously through us, there will be something here for you. We hope that you enjoy the ride as much as we do!
