Gallinules

Gallinules, especially the purple Gallinules, are some of our favorite birds, with their multi color coats and candy corn noses. They are unlike anything else found in the US at least. We have found these in the everglades, both deep in the glades as well as closer to land, wherever there are lilly pads. Common Gallinules, as their name suggests, are much more common and can frequently be found in ponds, lakes, and water bodies across the state of Florida
