Crossing The Line

Crossing the Line is a cinematic journey into one man's grief and the wild creatures that helped him survive — and a reckoning with what it means to protect what we love.

Crossing The Line

Crossing the Line is a deeply personal documentary that explores the fragile boundary between wildness and loss, between human tragedy and animal survival. Set against the backdrop of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, it follows filmmaker Mike Arian as he returns to the wild after heartbreak, only to discover that the bears he loves are facing battles of their own.

What begins as a search for healing becomes a meditation on protection, belonging, and the quiet unraveling of conservation promises. Through intimate encounters with grizzlies on both sides of Yellowstone’s invisible borders, Crossing the Line asks: when the wild no longer means safe, what will we risk to protect it?
